My Story
My love for honeybees began in my teen years. I was 12 years old when I discovered that my passion for these little creatures was way stronger than the pain from their stings. So I began by helping hobby and small-scale beekeepers until my mid-twenties. I left beekeeping for 10 years to pursue university studies to return in 2011. During this time, I was familiarizing myself and educating others about the challenges the bee industry was facing. In my little free time, I was a personal trainer and often would tell my clients that if you work hard as a bee, you will be as fit as them. In some way, my career path has followed this path and been shaped by it. I am a Revenue Manager by profession for a boutique hotel. Every time I make improvements in the hotel, I try to make it cozy like the bee hive. Besides polination, beeekeeping for me is an art. I focus on quality over quantity. I sell unpasteurized honey, bees wax, propolis, nucs and small amounts of royal jelly. My products are 100% natural. My honey has been listed in the Ottawa Eating and Drinking Magazine once. I am also registered with the Ontario Beekeping Association for rescuing honeybee and swarm nests, bumblebee and other pollinators. For ordering or inquiries, feel free to contact me. As bees collect nectar, they also collect pollen which provides food for young bees and the Queen. Curing is the process bees use to make honey from the nectar, during which they remove water and add enzymes. Commercial big box honey producers often use high heat and filtration to extend shelf life, but that removes the pollen and destroys the enzymes. Our RAW honey is never heated above 90 degrees or fine filtered, so the health benefits remain in the honey you consume.
